Note:
Below method will only work on computers where the Cockpit is already installed.

In order to solve any issues with SignOWA.exe, we need some kind of information about the errors that occur. Therefore, we changed signowa.exe so that it may provide us with that information if it is run manually outside of the Cockpit.

This is done in the following way:

  1. Download and save SignOWA.exe by clicking here.
  2. Click the Windows 'Start' button and choose 'Run'.
  3. Type 'cmd' and press enter.
  4. Enter 'c:'.
  5. Enter 'cd\'.
  6. Enter 'cd temp'. If you saved signowa.exe to a different folder than 'temp' enter the correct folder name instead.
  7. Enter 'signowa.exe -v' and post the messages written on the screen.

Forms Authentication is not yet implemented in signOWA. So far signOWA only works with Windows Authentication over HTTP or HTTPS.

When entering https://omail.principalinvestment.co.uk/exchange/ into a browser I am presented with a login form, so my guess is that you are using Forms Authentication? This is why you are getting the error "(440) Login Timeout".

Kind regards, Jakob.

I'm having an issue running SignOWA.exe:

Microsoft Windows [versie 5.2.3790]
(C) Copyright 1985-2003 Microsoft Corp.

D:\share>signowa.exe -v
Using the url: https://owa.kooy.nl/exchange/
Setting signature for user: JEROEN
Mailbox name: jvanschie
Sending HTTP request to: https://owa.kooy.nl/exchange/jvanschie/
Kan geen verbinding met de externe server maken
Setting signature for user: REPELSTEELTJE
Mailbox name: Administrator
Sending HTTP request to: https://owa.kooy.nl/exchange/Administrator/
Kan geen verbinding met de externe server maken

I can make a connection using Internet Explorer to https://owa.kooy.nl/exchange/jvanschie

Met vriendelijke groet,

Jeroen van Schie

Kan geen verbinding met de externe server maken =
Unable to connect to the remote server

Question Is the key OWAssl set to 1?
