Hi,
We had a user's last name change. We have changed the user's name in AD. When the user logs in to their workstation (Windows XP), the path to their profile is still under the old user name. When we try to run sign.exe we get the following log:

Is this caused by the user name on the workstation Document and Settings being the old user name? How do we correct this short of deleting the profile and recreating it?

| Thank you for your reply. We are experiencing other issues with this machine since the name change and believe that the registry has become corrupted. We are going to wipe the machine and rebuild it to cleanup the registry. |

Another issue that I have seen with "older" versions of eMailSignature is that while you could easily change the HTML version of a signature using sign.exe, the RTF and plain text versions did not change. How I have had to fix this issue in the past was by going into the %systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures and delete both the RTF and plain text signatures, and then re-run sign.exe, but I also agree whole-heartedly with Jesper in that you need to upgrade to version 5.
You can also copy and paste the blue string above into the start > run command window, and it will take you to the folder you need to go to on Windows 200/XP. For Vista the path is %systemdrive%\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures. Do not forget that you HAVE to paste these path strings into the run command window. _________________ Sincerely,
