I have received an excellent question from one of our customers;
| Quote: | | I’ve got a really tall image in my email. Why is it clipping in Outlook? |
I should point out that this question was related to their newsletter design - and NOT to their email signature design where a large all image design is a no-go.
Outlook 2007 and 2010 email clients that use the Word 2007 HTML rendering engine have inherited the Word 2007 image height limit of 1728px (18 inches).
So, if your image is 300px longer than the 1728px limit, 300px will get lopped off the top.
Now you may be wondering;
| Quote: | | Who adds images larger than 1728px high to their emails? |
Well, I have seen some creative all image newsletter designs larger than 1728px. What they are trying to achieve is that one big image takes much less time to load than lots of smaller images (only have to load header information for one image).
So before you warm up your email newsletter recipients scrollbar, don’t forget that Outlook has its limits ... _________________ </Jesper> | Manage Email Signatures from your Desktop | Test Email Signature in All In-boxes | Email Signature Showcase |
