SYMPTOM
You suddenly get the 'Unrecognized Database Format' error message for no apparent reason when you try to open your Cockpit or try to connect to the standard Access database.

SOLUTION
Open the DB in Access 2007 and click OK. You can now open Cockpit without any errors.

In version 7, use Compact and Repair database in Help menu to avoid this known MS Access issue.
