We use eMailSignature v7.0.4
I added an embedded image (company logo) to the signature.
This worked for a year or so but recently, the image disappears when typing a new e-mail. In all e-mails in the sent-items folder, the logo-image is gone and replaced by a little red cross. The recipient also doesn't see the image. Is this a known problem?

Please forward log file as I expect you use linked image where the URL no longer works. This would cause a Red X for all users using this signature.

Embedded images works flawless in Outlook 2007 and 2010.
We do not recommend embedded images in older Outlook versions due to a Microsoft Outlook bug which causes random Red X issues.

Please post log file (Diagnostics menu).

Idea

You should upgrade to latest version 7.5.0.

You are indeed using embedded images.
However, you are also using the old Outlook 2003 where we are not recommending embedding images due to Microsoft Outlook bug causing random Red X issues. As you are not allowing Word as Editor, you might be able to get Outlook to embed correctly.

Generally speaking - if your embedded images fail for everyone, you are facing a setup error - if embedded images only fail for some users you are caught by the Outlook bug and can try and remove Red X (right click user in Status Monitor).

Next step:

- Upgrade to version 7.5 (insert embedded images again)
- Switch to linked images
