Hi,

a querry on the existence of the key "DefaultProfile" in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles would prevent a lot of errors and mistakes. If there is no value in the key "DefaultProfile" (this occurs if Outlook hasn't been started yet, an therefore there is no created Outlook profile) eMailSignature should not create its registry keys and values ("0a0d020000000000c000000000000046"). Even if eMailSignature creates its registry-entries before Outlook has been started the first time and has created its registry-entries for the default profile, eMailSignature's entries (which are located at the wrong position) cause a lot of trouble as Outlook interprets the keys of eMailSignature as a profile for outlook and it tries to load this pretended "profile 0a0d020000000000c000000000000046" .
The reason for the misunderstanding between Outlook and eMailSignature ist the fact that eMailSignature creates its registry-entries in the wrong level of the registry when there is no profile in the registry->

Wrong level where eMailSignature creates its entries when there is no default profile in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles

The proper level where the eMailSignature keys must be stored in order to work properly with Outlook is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\PROFILENAME

... to cut a long story short:

I request an inquiry on the existence of the registry value "DefaultProfile".
If there is no DefaultProfile set in the registry (reason: Outlook has not been started for the first time yet) eMailSignature must not create it's registry settings/keys/values...

eMailSignature should not create it's registry settings until Outlook has been launched and a default profile is configured properly in the registry by Outlook.

Greetings

Florian

PS: As I think that there is already an inquiry on the key "DefaultProfile" (because eMailSignature has to read in this key, which name the profile in Outlook has, in order to create it's registry entries in the correct subdirectory of the profile in the registry) you probably just need to modify this existing inquiry a bit...
