Hi,

I am having an issue with four vista machines failing to get signatures deployed. I have trawled the site and don't appear to have found what is occurring.
the machine fail with:

The signature path cannot be located. You might need to reinstall the profile. See how to on www.emailsignature.eu. Path 'C:\Documents and Settings\ReleaseEngineer.MACROVISION\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures\'.

It is the same on all 4 machines. what confuses me is why it is looking for that user as they don't exist. Each machine has it's own individual log on.

I will post the log in a separate post.

Many Thanks

Stuart

Status: The signature path cannot be located. You might need to reinstall the profile

This indicate a problem with the outlook profile where the email signatures are stored.

Please verify that the Outlook profile is OK:
  1. Manually create a 'dummy' email signature and check that it works i Outlook: Tools -> Options; Mail Format tab.
  2. Now run Sign.exe again and check Diagnostics for this user.
  3. Still not OK? Create and verify a New Outlook Profile for the user.

Question Make sense?

Hi,

I have done as asked to the point of deleting existing profiles and re-creating and testing locl signatures.

Upon checking the diagnostic screen it has still failed and is thowing the same directory error. I traced the signature i created to the file path of:

c:\users\{username}\appdata\roaming\microsoft\signatures

Quote:
c:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures
Arrow yes it does but that is not where sign.exe is trying to put the signature when it is run, hence the error

Question Does the folder hold the signatures your created in the Cockpit?
Arrow No none are copied across

Question Open Outlook. Can you manually select the signatures in Outlook?

On a clean Vista install, Sign.exe will put the signatures here:
Quote:
c:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures

If you have other Vista machines on your network, please check those.

When you don't see the email signatures here, either the folder is write protected or upgraded from another OS.

Do you have any idea?

Having the same issue with another client using PowerFuse (Res Software).

Outlook is looking for signatures in:
Outlook signatures wrote:
c:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures

PowerFuse is the cause why Sign.exe is deploying signature files to the home directory on a Server 2008.

Question Are you by any change using PowerFuse? Or did you find a resolution?
