|
|
Hi,
We have just installed eMailSignature 7.3 on our network. I noticed that the registry modification that is supposed to be deployed to allow linked images is not working (images are always embedded).
Do you think this could be a permissions problem? i.e. sign.exe runs as User, and the user does not have permission to edit the registry?
We are using Outlook 2007 with both Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 users.
Is there a fix for this issue?
Thanks |

Please note that latest version is 7.5 - Upgrading from version 7.3 is very easy.
You must upgrade to be ready for Windows 7 (and Outlook 2010).
Re. your linked images.
I'm not sure which registry you refer to - please explain as linked images simply link to a URL on your web site where the image reside.
Thanks. _________________ </Jesper> | Test Email Signature | Showcase

Those are old articles from 2007 and 2008 - referring to outlook 2007 - and before Outlook 2010 was released.
Using eMailSignature 7.5, embedded images works out of the box.

|

I think I got it now
The option to change whether Internet images will be linked instead of embedded in a message can only be change via the Registry in Outlook 2007 (and Outlook 2010).
HKCU registry key Outlook 2007:
| Code: | HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
Value name: Send Pictures With Document
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0 |
If the value is set to 0 you’ll send a link. With a value of 1 or if the value name is missing, you’ll include the image with the message instead of as a link.

It seems that the HKCU setting is no longer working after upgrading to eMailSignature 7.
As you are the first to ask specifically for linked images - we did not know.
I have listed your request as a feature request. _________________ </Jesper> | Test Email Signature | Showcase
