|
|
I've created a script that executes the sign.exe during user logon (GPO).
The script runs perfect when I execute it manually, but not when executed by logon script.
In the diagnostic log I see the following :
Status: The signature path cannot be located. You might need to reinstall the profile. See how to on www.emailsignature.eu. Path '\Microsoft\Signatures\'.
I know about the option of reinstalling the profile, but that's not something I want to do, as the script runs fine executing it manually.
What I would like to know is, which variable(s) are being used by your software to define the correct path, so I can troubleshoot this further.
I've already compared the environment variables during logon script execution and manual executing, but these are exactly the same, so I have no idea what 's causing this problem.
Could you please provide us with some assistance?
Best regards,
Bart |

Outlook defines the correct email signature path for Sign.exe. This path is created when the first email signature is created in Outlook.
Status: The signature path cannot be located
If you run Sign.exe for a user that has no email signature created, this could create this error message, as Sign.exe cannot locate the folder holding the email signatures.
On the other hand, if your script is OK when executed manually but not when executed automatically - for the same user - then the problem is your logon script.
Does this help you analyze the problem? _________________ </Jesper> | Test Email Signature | Showcase | |

| OK, I found a workaround ; On my logon server(s), I created a registry value in HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENT VERSION\RUN which points to my script. This works fine. I still haven 't figured out why there's a problem when executing through GPO, but this workaround is OK with me for the moment |
