|
|
I have tried to contact KIXtart for support on this, but i am getting the runaraound... so i figured i would post something here in case you guys have experienced this issue before.
issue: KIXtart causes ADupdate to run twice when the user logs in.
troubleshooting: If i run the command to execute sign.exe, or the batch file, manually, it only opens once. Only when it is running from the login script made with KIXtart does it have this issue.
problem: this is only a problem because if the user updates their information on the first screen and clicks save, that window goes away. instinct will cause the user to hit save immediately after, thus reupdating their information with the original default info, causing no change.
solution: contact officeaddon for support? :D i hope!
any possible ideas you guys might have would be awesome to hear. Should you not know anything of KIXtart, what methods do you recommend for login scripts to run this app?
thanks!

Well ... I will post what I know about KIX (which is not much I am affraid). I have no experience with KIX and ADUpdate, but these scripts works without ADUpdate.
This script is used in some installations:
| Code: | | SHELL "\\[server]\[folder]\eMailSignature.bat" |
This also works ...
| Code: | | SHELL "\\NETLOGON\Sign.exe Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=\\[netshare]\settings.mdb" |
Google search
If you do not have it as AppLaunched=KIX32.EXE $, it will try to start KIXTART.KIX twice, if you use that as your script.
Maybe anyone else have better suggestions? |
