Hello,
We are having issues with our logo. If we link it to our webserver, it will show on some computers, won't on others and sometimes takes a minute to load.
If we embedd the logo, some computers embed it correctly while others store the graphic on the local computer profile. Those locally stored ones don't show the graphic when an email is sent (on the recipient end).
Are we doing something wrong? |

There is only one reason why linked images does not show on certain computers.
The image URL is not visible on those computers.
To test, please enter the URL in the browser. Or use this tool.
By default Outlook 2003 and 2007 block linked images, so typically users see a red cross in Outlook unless they have added your domain to their safe list.
Any extensive loading time will also show using the tool.
If would try and move the image to another host and test the result. E.g. you can try the free host we use in this forum.
Embedding images is a bit more complicated. Done correctly, there are no issues other than your file name must be uniq. Don't use 'logo.gif' as you might reach a user having another image with the same name, and then that image will show ... strange but it's a fact ...
I assume that you are not using eMailSignature software as this software would handle embedded images without any problems. Doing it manually, you need to store your image in the correct local folder and use the correct link in your signature:
Store the image here in Outlook 2007:
| Quote: | | [root]\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures |
Store the image here in Outlook XP:
| Quote: | | [root]\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures |
Then make your link in your signature:
| Code: | | <img src="company_logo.gif"> |
Any luck? |
