I have a few questions about your product which I am evaluating for a corporate rollout:
1. I put in a data source for my database and although it tests and verifies just fine, it gives "Cannot save this data source. Most like the field 'custom_str5' in table 'General' needs to be changes to type 'MEMO' or expanded otherwise. Please contact your database administrator.
2. I put a value in the XtendedAttribute1 field in AD, but I'm not getting it to show up in the CockPit.
3. How do you use "any" AD attribute if you don't want to use the default ones in the program?
4. How can you combine datasources, say I want to use attributes from a database and from AD?
5. Is there any additional string manipulation available so that you can maniuplate variables or data? If not, is this planned for a future release? |

Hi Darrin,
- If you use SQL DB, then please extend 'custom_str5' to min. 2,000. If you use Access DB, then follow description in error message.
In the next version we will change the default CreateAndInsert.sql.
- Please post your log file (Help -> Diagnostics, right click user) as I cannot recreate this issue.
- Which AD fields would you like to use that are not available?
- Each email signature template can only use one data source. You cannot have different data sources in the same template.
- What kind of string manipulation do you want? Please explain further ...

1. Will do.
2. Replication, didn't wait long enough.
3. There are fields that we might want to use that are values that our Unified messaging system adds as well as OCS values. Just a thought.
4. Ok.
5. Simple things that you'd be able to do in scripting like getting a substring from a string. |

Are you happy so far ... ?
5. Not sure if I understand what you want to achieve, but as long as you execute Sign.exe you can use the scripting you normally do ... Or please post one specific example ... |

I noted ddyson's question 3:
3. How do you use "any" AD attribute if you don't want to use the default ones in the program?
I posted a similar query as I was interested in using the roomnumber attribute and got a feedback from Bjarne Mess saying he was looking to add some more tools in May to make this feasible... Tools like ADExport does not support the full extended schema either.
