|
|
I have had just one group working up until now where i'm having to add a second group. I cannot seem to get the second group to deploy. My first group is a domain local security group and worked like a champ. So i created another domain local sec group, but it doesnt work.
I read on another post that i should use Dist Groups for grouping? Should they be domain local? does it matter? Should i change my existing config to dist groups? |

You can use security groups as long as they are not nested groups.
Nested groups only works with distribution lists.
Then you need to set one as the priority group in case the same user is found in both groups.

Security group nesting occurs when one security group is made a member of another security group.
I recommend using distribution group if you intend to use the group for email distribution rather than for security.
Adding a user to a large number of security groups will increase the size of the user's security token (e.g. NTFS, Public Folder permission), a problem that will be avoided by using distribution groups where a security context is not required. |
