Manage Email Signatures Centrally - For All Users

We have made minor amendments to an HTML signature in Cockpit v5.0.0 and tested it previews correctly.

We have rebooted the end user's machine (Vista PC running Outlook 2007) but after logging on and opening Outlook, the signature has not been updated. When creating a new email and sending it on to our shared email account and viewing the source we can see it is displaying the old html code and not the updated one.

I have been to the status monitor and the user in question does not have any errors / fails and it also displays 'Office version 2007 detected.' which is correct.

I have not checked whether this is the case for our Windows 2000 Outlook 2003 users.

User amoslimani is set to have GC Header as the default email signature, but it is not selected in available signatures.
Default and reply/forward signatures are selected by default, so it must have been unselected manually.

You are correct, the signature for new messages was GC Header which wasn't ticked in the available signatures list.

I have changed the signature for new messages to match but this is a slight bug because I shouldn't have been able to select a new message signature if it wasn't checked in the available signatures box.

Anyway, this doesn't resolve the issue because the user is getting old deleted signatures in their Outlook which cannot be deleted and the signature they should get is an old version, the change made in cockpit is not getting transferred to Outlook.

Please post log file and explain the setting you want transferred to Outlook ... Wink

Please tick 'delete all existing signatures...' in General Outlook Settings. This will delete 'old' signatures and also user created signatures, so use this setting with caution!

We can't delete all the user's signatures globally as we don't know how many of them may have their own personal ones.

We just need a way to force the deletion/refreshing of particular users' signatures.

PS The log file was copied and pasted and posted above.

This Outlook 2007 user's signature does not match the one in Cockpit. A new email using GC Header signature is producing a broken link image with dimensions of 32 width x 32 high (should be 600x150). Rerunning sign.exe manually doesn't fix.

Also, we have a 'Christmas' signature that is no longer required. The signature was deleted from the Cockpit software (v5.0.0) but it still appears in the users signature list.

Going to Tools > Options > Mail Format tab > Signatures and selecting 'Christmas' and then the 'Delete' button and confirm does not remove it. How can this be fixed?

The images in the signature are all squashed. The width and height in the html is geting ignored.

When you right-click 'view source' in the outlook message, the width=600 and height=150 is correct, but the filenames of the images are do not match the filenames in the signature. They are from an earlier version.

The source code says:
'http://www.guildford.ac.uk/external/gc_banner_v1.jpg'

when the signature in cockpit says:
"http://www.guildford.ac.uk/external/guildfordcollege.jpg"

It should be using guildfordcollege.jpg. Is there a Cockpit update? We are on v5.0.0

The user is running Windows Vista. The path you supplied for GC Header 08.htm does not exist on their machine.

C:\Documents and Settings\amoslimani\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures\GC Header 08.htm

I have changed the folder options to view hidden files and folders and an 'AppData' folder appears but when I search for all html files, there are none.

Where do you think I should look?
