Manage Email Signatures Centrally - For All Users

Last week we started using Emailsignature, we now have 118 people using it but a few workstations do not cooperate. The problems are on vista computers, however, we have many vista computers that work well and all are using the same Vista image.

This is one of the errors.

Note that the user who is getting this error has no problems reported in the Status Monitor.

Another error I have is for 2 persons, also on Windows Vista.

These persons do not get a signature, when logged in as myself I managed to get it but not for other users on the same computer. I don't know how I did it but after running sign.exe a few times it worked once. Note that this signature does not contain strange characters because it works for 118 other people.

We use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (express)

After deleting the RTF format for these people I ran sign.exe again on the workstation and now they get this error in Status Monitor.

Please review the template and check all mappings. It seems that some mappings are lost in ANT signature 5.

Please post your HTML (and any TXT format) (from Cockpit code view) so I can check your field mappings.

If you are not using default Active Directory data source, you have to do it ... Wink

I don't understand your last tip, I'm using active directory information. I used the home_phone for a second e-mail adress option but who doesn't Razz

Thanks - I am a little confused as I was expecting a signature named 'ANT signature 3' or 'ANT signature 5' ... Surprised

Before I spend time removing tags copied from MS Word (which has nothing to do with HTML), please confirm that this is the template with preview error or where your log says;

Could I ask you to post one log file with the 'strange characters ...' error using Sign.exe v.5.4.2 Beta (Diagnoctics, right click)?

In Signature ANT signature 5 in txt format, you have '<<vennootschap>>' and '<<kvk>>'.

Using '<' and '>' are interpreted as HTML tags.

Question

Can you delete <<vennootschap>> and <<kvk>> and then run Sign.exe again? (Without knowing the purpose of them)

This is a Vista PC. The path I posted was in Windows XP ... Wink

The words between <<>> are for our database programmer. We also send e-mail from within our database and the programmer wanted to check if it is possible to get the same signature in the database as in Outlook so he could fill the rest of the information that we cannot get from active directory.

I removed the extra placeholders but it did not change anything on the vista workstation.

The reason for this error message to appear was, that there recently was a change in the domain. Some profiles were not updated, and hence the signature path was wrong. Moreover some of the users did not have write permission to the folder, so it came up with the 'strange characters' error message.

The problem for these users will be solved by resetting their profile.

Better error message will come in the log in the next release.

Thanks for helping out with this problem the other day. 131 users without problems now.

I have deleted the e-mail addresses from the logs due to the risk of spam.
