I have a client who is getting failures round the whole office stating that 'The Directory Property cannot be found in the Database' This only started happening this weekend and has been running for for the last 3 months without any problems. I have upgraded her to 4.8.7 but is still is happening. The only thing that has changes since it was working was possibly windows updates, and their internal IT guys setting the SMTP settings back to standard on the server.
Any Ideas? |

Didn't this only happen for one user? _________________ </Bjarne> | Test Email Signature | Showcase

This is now happening for all users, and I cannot see any reason for it. I have upgraded her to 4.8.7, her settings.mdb works fine in my installation, There has been no windows updates on any of the machines or the server. The ONLY thing that has happened since it worked it the IIS service being stopped and restarted.
The client performed a full server restart last night, still has not helped.
I have run out of ideas! |

I have read over the forum and the error Dave entered initially is incorrect – the correct error message is ‘the directory property cannot be found in the cache’. I googled it and there were loads of responses, I have attached the link to one below.
http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/Logon/code/code_8000500D.htm
Could be worth a look?
Cheers,

OK. Please verify if you can preview the signatures at all.
Can you create a new signature at all where you can see info? My guess is that this is a simple typo. Please also check if you have put in wrong information in the section "Advanced technical settings" or in the special rootcontext in the data source manager. _________________ </Bjarne> | Test Email Signature | Showcase

Hi apologies for not replying yesterday, I was out of the office.
Yes I can preview signatures, and create new ones so no problems there.
In terms of the 'Advanced Technical Settings' the code reads as follows:
LDAP://DC=feelgooddrinks,DC=co,DC=uk
However I don't know anything about this so have no idea if it is incorrect - we have an external IT company who manages our AD. I also don't know anything about the special rootcontext in the data source manager - could you advise a) where to find it and b) what information should be there so that I can pass it onto our IT guys?
Cheers,
Becky |

Hi,
To confirm all signatures can be previewed in the cockpit, however I believe the error existed prior to being upgraded to 4.8.7 - as far as I understand Dave performed the upgrade as a possible solution to the problem.
The code in the advanced technical domain is below, and yes it can be verified.
LDAP://DC=feelgooddrinks,DC=co,DC=uk
In regard to the upgrade to 4.8.7. as i mentioned Dave carried it out and yes, as far as i know he did copy the new sign.exe in to the netlogon.
My log file, with the error 'directory property can not be found in the cache' is below, however as I'm sure Dave has filled you in a couple of the users have different a status. In each case a different version of the signoff has been run. I have included these below:

This was caused by missing information in AD and is a very special case. This will not be seen again with version 4.9.0. _________________ </Bjarne> | Test Email Signature | Showcase
