Hi..
We have been running email signature for a year now with no problem, we did change our domain a few weeks back and gave all users new profiles.. All users have updated fine except 1 ??
We keep getting the...
'File not found, There are probably strange characters in the signature name. Please avoid '/'s or other illegal characters'.
I have found some other posts with a similar issue and have tried everything, including changing the outlook profile and re-installing outlook 2007.

We have other users with Vista and outlook 2007 that works fine. All users use the same signatures..

This is very frustrating, I can send you the error log file. Any help would be much appreciated..

We are running Version 5.0 with outlook 2003 and 2007 with exchange 2007..

Thanks in advance..
Phil.

Please get version 5.5, and you're back in business.

All your settings, license key and signatures are stored in your settings DB (settings.mdb when using default Access).

Learn how to upgrade here.

Hi..
I have now upgraded to 5.5, user still has an error, but different message.
"The signature path could not be located, you might need to reinstall profile. Path C:\Doc & settings\releaseengineer\app data\microsft signatures\"

Where can I find this location ? Not able to locate..

I have reinstalled a new outlook profile but still not working ? Is there something I am missing ??

Thanks
Phil

Question Is the error related to only one user?

If you search "ReleaseEngineer.MACROVISION" you will find many frustrated Vista users. And some resolutions which - unfortunately, we cannot support here.

Just one last question. Since upgrading to Version 5.5 our Stationary is set to -
background=http://www.emailsignature.eu/phpBB2/images/dot_clear.gif

Is this correct pointing at your web address or would it be better to point locally, we have it set so it has a blank background.

Thanks again

Phil.

Appreciate your feed-back re. "ReleaseEngineer.MACROVISION" Great

Please explain why would you set stationery to a blank background?

I would untick and not use stationery ... Surprised

Hi..
We use a blank background as we do not want employees to customise the stationary. We want to send all emails with a plain white background and force them to use this if they do create their own stationary..

I was just concerned that we are referencing to your URL for the image, and that we might have an issue if your site went down? Otherwsie all is working fine..

Thanks
Phil.

Hi Phil,

If you have unchecked the checkmark that you will not be using the stationery, then you have no worries at all. There will be no references to any of our websites.

Cheers, Bjarne
