We have about 250 eMailSignature users on a variety of hardware platforms and operating system versions in our eight locations.
Today we upgraded our Citrix platforms to incorporate "Flex" profiles and darned if it didn't break eMailSignatures for 40+ of our Citrix users. Another 50+ Citrix users are working fine. Also, all those with direct Windows connections run fine.
For those 40+ users failing we get an error report to the eMailSignatures Log: "There are strange characters in the signature name". Of course, the signature doesn't contain strange characters since the same signatures are being downloaded for all the users including both those that work and those that don't.
Any ideas on a way we can get these users back online? _________________ -- John Martin, Web Developer

Cannot explain why one is OK and the other is not.
I cannot validate my answer as you use a special data source, so you might have to try a few things before you have a solution.
You could try and update to version 5.
I noticed some HTML coding errors which must be corrected.

Tags ending with '/>' is not HTML but SHTML. The Cockpit editor will not create these tags, so you properly copied the code from another editor or web page.

Does correcting the HTML erros, and the regenerate RTF/TXT now result in OK log files? _________________ </Jesper> | Test Email Signature | Showcase | |

I'll upgrade and make the change to the HTML and let you know if the issue remains.
Thanks. _________________ -- John Martin, Web Developer

I've made the upgrade to 5.0.0. It's too early to tell if the errors have stopped, but so far so good.
In Cockpit, I am unable to select "Actions>>Deploy Signatures>>Rule Based Deployment" (it's grayed out). sign.exe seems to be using the rules I previously set-up, but I need to inspect them to be sure.
Is there a setting I need to do to access that area again? _________________ -- John Martin, Web Developer
