Is it possible to use an already existing database to get information from?

My company has a telephone-system that has all data that is wanted. The AD doesnt have all the required information.

Also is it possible to access the information in the "Other Telephone" field in AD?

Yes, you can connect the signature templates to all OLE DB's (e.g. MS SQL or Access).

By default, the templates will look in your AD.

Click one signature and select Manage Data Sources.

Which field is that?

How does the system read the info from the exisiting database?
How do I match the info from the existing database to match the fields in signature designer?

If you press the button next to the field containing the telephone number you get the option to add more numbers. The company has their internal numbers in the telephone field and their external number in the other telephone field "inside" that button

The Cockpit uses MDAC (or ODBC if you prefer that) connection to read information from your data source.
When creating new signature you can select your data sources. Or you can change data source in existing templates.

Re. the 'Other Telephone' field, you can try and see if it's visible for the standard templates using AD as the data source.

If not visible, but needed, please post in feature request forum ... Wink

One more thing which might be worth looking into!

Not using AD as your data source, you can take advantage of Rule based deployment found in the menu Available Signatures:

We have a customer with +8,000 users and more than 100 rules to deploy signatures.
