We are having a problem with 4.9.2 where our users are no longer getting signatures. The log file status for the user says OK but no sig. This is on both Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 2003 (terminal server) with both Outlook XP & 2003. Below is a log file of a user that isn't working.

It would help me if you told me which changes were made since it stopped working ...
Anyway, you are deploying to Security Groups:

Please confirm that your security groups are not nested? (We recommend using Distribution Lists)
Which group is set as priority group?
Try overwriting your group settings using specific user settings - then you know if it's a group issue.
On your TS, test that you are able to keep signature settings logging on again (your profiles may be overwritten) - without using eMailSignature.
Let me hear back ... we need to start somewhere .. |

Last change was made was adding a campaign. Worked great. We noticed a couple of users not getting the updated signature so we manually assigned per user. This worked. Next time we went in to do it and noticed it wasn't working anymore. We then noticed that signatures were no longer being able to be created at all. One thing to note was my helpdesk guy that was updating the signatures for each user was using an older version of the cockpit (4.7.x).
We do not use nested security groups.
We didn't have a priority group set. I just tried setting the modified_security_group as the priority but it didn't help.
Tried setting as individual signatures but it doesn't work either.
On TS server a manually created signature in Outlook survives log off/log on. We even destroy the locally cached profile on log off.
I just re-read my original post and I failed to put in the error we get when opening Outlook after sign.exe runs. It is "The signature "Modified Corporate Signature" could not be located. This signature may have been removed." We get this error on all signatures on all users now after we run sign.exe and try to create a new mail. |

No need to troubleshoot groups if you don't use them.
I wonder why you have no errors in your Status Monitor log as I would expect these issue is caused by clients not getting the signatures from the database (i.e. settings.mdb).
Please follow these steps:
1) Check that you can preview the signatures you deploy.
2) Setup same signature settings for all - and remember to select that this setting always has priority over group settings.
3) Then execute you logon script and post log here.
Next steps: (Wait until 1+2+3 is completed)
4) Create eMailSignature.bat with only the one line from your logon script. Maybe use v.5 just released where the wizard wil guide you through.
5) Forward your settings.mdb to jf (at) officeaddon.com. |
