In eMailSignature, these fields are shown as XtensionAttrib.

How to Enable Advanced Features in Active Directory Users and Computers
After you configure Active Directory Users and Computers to view advanced features, the Exchange advanced tab is displayed for each messaging-enabled user.

1. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Microsoft Exchange.
2. Click Active Directory Users and Computers.
3. Click Advanced Features on the View menu.

How to Add Values to the Custom Attribute Fields
1. Click Start, point to Programs, click Microsoft Exchange, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.
2. Double-click the user account for which you want to add a custom attribute.
3. Click the Exchange Advanced tab, and then click Custom Attributes.

A list of attributes is displayed. These attributes are named extensionAttributex, where x is a value from 1 to 15.

4. Double-click an attribute, type the value for the information that you want to store, and then click OK.
5. Click OK, click OK, and then quit Active Directory Users and Computers.

Cannot find the 'URL' you refer to ...

Below you see the fields from XtensionAttrib fields in AD - when enabled:

Does this add a field that can be customized in AD (I don't see that it does) or does it let you assign a single attribute to each field (1-15) that can be used on all users?

Not sure I understand ... let me give you an example as you cannot manipulate the field content using AD as your data source.

What you enter in your AD fields, can be used in your email signatures.

Email template example
Code:
Kind regards
((XtensionAttrib1))

((First_name)) ((Last_name))

Email signature result for user JF
Quote:
Kind regards
Office add-on Ltd.

Jesper Frier

    AD content for user JF
    ((XtensionAttrib1)) = Office add-on Ltd.
    ((First_name)) = Jesper
    ((Last_name)) = Frier

Email signature result for user BM
Quote:
Kind regards
Office add-on Ltd.

Bjarne Mess

    AD content for user BM
    ((XtensionAttrib1)) = Office add-on Ltd.
    ((First_name)) = Bjarne
    ((Last_name)) = Mess

Does it answer your question ... Smile

Yes I think so.

It sounds like each xtensionattrib(1-15) field can have only one unique attribute. I wanted to create an new custom field that I could then edit in AD similar to the other default fields.
I work for an architectural firm and the users need a field for initials after their name, i.e. AIA, RID or LEED AP. Right now I'm sticking it in an AD field that was not intended for this info but it's working.
Is there another way?
