How to get rid of Times New Roman in Outlook 2003 emails with Word as Editor.
If you use Outlook 2003, allow Word as Editor and use HTML format, you usually get one line with Times New Roman font just before your email signature begins - regardless of what your eMailSignature settings are.
This symptom is caused by the default font in Word 2003 being Times New Roman.
Example
You have setup the default compose font in your Cockpit to Verdana (Signatures, email font).
You have designed your email signature with Verdana font in Cockpit editor.
When you open Outlook and create a new mail message, you will find at least one line with Times New Roman font depending on your design.
Solution
Set the default font in Word.
Open Word 2003 -> Format -> Fonts, select your preferred font, then Default (at the bottom left).
