On version 5.0.0 it seems that Cockpit crashes out when you run Sign.exe from the menu or try the link for the support forum.
The program dissappears, but is still running in the background on the processes list with around 40%+ occupancy. |

Hi Neil,
This could be because the settings database has become corrupt. Can you try to repair the database from the help menu in the Cockpit?
If this doesnt help please reply on tis forum
Thanks |

| Tried the Compact and Repair, but still seems to occur. Sign does actually run. |

Dave's advise normally fixes the issue when using default Access settings DB.
You might want to try these other options:
- Delete all users in LgdaUser table (one user might have corrupt entry)
- Or upgrade Cockpit.exe and Sign.exe to v.5.5 beta
Does one of these fix Cockpit crashing? _________________ </Jesper> | Test Email Signature | Showcase

I looked at the table and visually seemed ok, so installed the beta version.
Uninstalled old version first, then set the location of the settings database. Happened to click on the "Diagnostics" menu option, thinking I would see what that said. Cockpit bombed out again, leaving entry in Task Manager with processor usage.
Trying to get back in to Cockpit after closing program in TM, getting "System Error &H80070006 (-2147024890)" or a variation of that address, and also sometimes "Failed to load control "HTMLed" from rmpHTML.ocx. Your version of rmpHTML.ocx may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application".
Put the settings.mdb back over the live one, and still appears to crash the same. Haven't tried rebooting yet. |

| Now Rebooted. Cockpit loads and sign runs without crashing, although it is complaining that the database needs updating as it doesn't have the vcf field. |

Does your settings DB contain 18 tables?
Compaire the default v.5.5.0 settings.mdb (in Program Files/Office add-on/) with the one you use. _________________ </Jesper> | Test Email Signature | Showcase

It does, and I have added the vcf (Memo) field to the lgdausers table, although when Sign is run, it contains "Please license VCF card generation".
Not sure if this is an issue or not |

You should never have to edit the settings DB outside the Cockpit as we cannot support customized DB's.
My recommendation is to copy your settings DB and then overwrite your settings DB with the settings DB included in the download package.
Then copy your templates, deployment settings and general Outlook settings (Actions menu) to the new settings DB. _________________ </Jesper> | Test Email Signature | Showcase

Hi Neil,
You have done the correct thing and create the col vcf as ntext (memo in Access) for lgdaUsers.
The vcf card message doesn't have any saying in this, it is just a message from sign.exe.
Thanks,
Bjarne |

Yes, created it as a memo, copying that from the default blank database.
Seems to all work ok. |
