|
|
| When I click on the Diagnostics button in the Cockpit for e-mail signature, the Cockpit locks up and I have to kill it. I cannot bring up the Diagnostics screen. This is happening both on my PC (Windows XP Pro SP3) and on the server (Windows Server 2003). I am running email signature 5.5.0. If I need to run a different version, please let me know where I can access the download for it. |

If reinstalling the Cockpit does not work, then you properly have a buggy entry in Diagnostics.
Resolution
Clean your Diagnostic entries directly in the Database -> LgdaUsers table.
Delete all rows. Don't worry - They are simply history, and will not change user Outlook settings.
OK now? _________________ </Jesper> | Manage Email Signatures from your Desktop | Test Email Signature in All In-boxes | Email Signature Showcase |

| Sorry, I went out of town right after I posted and then didn't get an e-mail that there was a reply even though I checked the notification box. So just now found your reply. Anyway, I deleted the rows in the db and now can open the diagnostics tab. It is totally blank now, of course. Will it get re-populated as people log on? What about the old users that are no longer here? I was trying to open the diagnostics so I could delete them from email signature to free up their user license. |

Yes, it get re-populated as people log on.
There are two supported ways to release licenses. Any attempt to edit directly in the database is unsupported and can result in eMailSignature stop working.
- Right click user in Diagnostics and select 'Remove this user'.
- Schedule Release Licenses Tool.

| Thanks, I will try the release licenses tool as well. It looks like deleting the data in that table also deleted information about users who had individual signatures set up for them. Some users need a different reply signature than the one for the group they are in so I set them up with an individual reply signature and checked the box to override the group settings. But today, a user complained about having lost her reply signature after her PC rebooted and when I looked in the cockpit, I saw that she and everyone else had been set back to the default reply signature. And none of the "override group setting" boxes were checked for anyone. |
