I am having an issue since upgrading to 7.
A little background first. When we were in the "middle" of the upgrade from v.5 I noticed that many users still had the signatures deployed, but the defaults were reset to none.
Now that I have upgraded, the defaults are not bieng set. I am not seeing any error in the logs.

At first the users were not bieng recognized as in their groups. So I deleted the AD group and readded it. Now it seems to recognize they are in the group, but still does not change their default signatures (which is now none).
Any help would be appreciated.
Other information that might prove helpful:
All client workstations are running Windows XP (all patched) and running Office 2007. In the Set Signatures for Users page, the users show a default signature and reply/forward signature set. But it is not correct with their Outlook. |

User 'jgolden' is not getting this setting in Outlook? Are you running in 'Silent deployment' mode (Setup tab) ...
Is the group 'GR Workstations' a distribution list or security group? _________________ </Jesper> | Manage Email Signatures from your Desktop | Test Email Signature in All In-boxes | Email Signature Showcase |

jgolden and all other users. I did change the group. I see know our old one was a DL and the new one is a security group. I take it this is why it quit working?
I did have silent deployment checked. But unchecked it in trying to get this too work. Should I recheck it? |

Nested security groups are not supported.
Please change your 'GR Workstations' group to a distribution list.
Or use a security group that is not nested (part of another group).
Nested distribution lists are supported.
Now run Sign.exe ... OK?
Please untick 'Silent deployment' or nothing will be set on the Outlook clients. This setting is for pre-launch where you can validate your settings before going live - without users knowing you are testing.
Still not OK. Please post log file ... _________________ </Jesper> | Manage Email Signatures from your Desktop | Test Email Signature in All In-boxes | Email Signature Showcase |

The Security Group was not nested, but it still did not work.
However I created a new distribution group, just for this and it appears to work now.

Have you renamed the group inbetween? There is a function in the Cockpit where you can check groups for possible actions to take.
Thanks,
Bjarne |

| No didn't rename the group. I did run the check when it wasn't working and it reported that everything was fine. |
