Setting Signatures for Individual Users:

In the past we have set signatures to individual users and ticked the overrule functionality and this works fine.

But from time to time people will lose their assigned signatures and we have no reason why? Its been happening very frequently and with random users.

Is this a know issue/bug in v5.5 or are we/users doing something incorrectly?

Thanks,

Individual user settings are not reported as buggy. Maybe users are deleted from the database, or maybe they are new users which will get 'for All' settings during first logon.

The user log files will show you which settings are used each time Sign.exe is executed.

In version 5.5, you get the log file in Diagnostics shortcut, then right click the user.

Thanks for the swift reply.

Regarding this matter, the users in question were definitly not new or deleted / edited in the Database, new users have been setup without an issue and we have only removed a few users that no longer work for us.

I have viewed the log files for the specific users and I cannot see anything which shows the individual users losing there assigned signatures.

One other matter which is related to this issue, I think that the losses of signature coincided with users moving their 'laptops' for example taking a laptop home to work from home for the day. Does logging from the same machine (that has the software installed) but from a different network effect user settings?

Thanks,

In the log file you should see that individual user settings apply.

I'd be happy to assist with more details, if you post the user log file.

Re. taking a laptop home to work from home for the day.
As the email signatures are stored in the Outlook profile that could explain signatures randomly disappearing. I.e. if users are using another profile when outside your corporate network.

Does it make sense?
