Does eMailSignature require Active Directory?
No, you can use eMailSignature without having Active Directory - You only need a OLE DB connection to your data source, e.g. MS Access or MS SQL.
Looking for extra flexibility? Learn how to use rule based email signature deployment.
By default, eMailSignature will use your Active Directory.
How to setup an Access data source
- Open settings.mdb and edit users table (found in install dir /program files/emailsignature).
- Enter users unique Windows logon names in AccountName field and other contact details you want to use in your email signature.
Data Source is now ready!
Now setup email signature to use the data source ...
- Open eMailSignature -> Setup, Manage Data Sources, New Data Source and enter as below:
Click Verify and select AccountName.
Now click save and your data source can be used when designing your corporate templates.
- Click signature and select data source and insert the fields you need.
- Click Signatures tab and deploy user email signatures with contact details from your data source.
