I did a quick search of the forum but the only references to this problem seem to date back to 2007.

Having just installed eMailSignature v7.0.2 I am having users report that their spell check is not working. I have created both HTML & Rich Text signatures for our users who are using Outlook 2003 on an Exchange 2003 server. The clients are running Office 2003.

It would appear that the eMailSignature script unticks the “Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages” on the Mail Format tab under options.

You can tick the box but the next time you log on it is un-ticked again... any ideas?

On Outlook 2003 (not Outlook 2007) you have removed Word as Editor (Setup tab):

Resolution
Tick and allow Word as Editor:

Allowing Word as Editor will not automatically change the settings back on the clients. But when users manually change the setting, it will no longer be removed during login.

Question Does it answer your question?

Yes, the Word box was unchecked in setup. Only because it is "not recommended when images are embedded", which ours are. What are the issues with embeddedimages please?

The Outlook profile cache could get overloaded resulting in randomly Red X's.

You will have to remove the Red X's for users having this symptom:

More and more clients are using embedded images. As there are hardly no support with Red issues anymore, I assume that Outlook 2007 is much better to handle embedded images it than Outlook 2003.

Thank you Microsoft ... Great
